Speech and Language Therapy
Our Speech and Language Therapy team has a focus on creating an inclusive communication environment. Therefore, a large part of our role is up-skilling and training all staff to ensure they have the necessary skills to support all of the pupils.
The communication pyramid is referred to in Speech and Language Therapy as a way of explaining what skills support speech and language. Supporting skills towards the bottom of the pyramid, such as attention and listening, and play and interaction, will provide pupils with the best environment to develop their understanding and use of language.

Click on each section of the pyramid to find out more information and examples of interventions. Within each section, the level of support is highlighted as either universal, targeted and specialist.
